Cirk La Putyka is an ensemble dedicated professionally to the contemporary Circus. We are trying to transcend the lines between acrobatics, contemporary dance, puppetry, concert and sport. We are striving to create our own specific theatre poetics and find a perspective on the genre as a whole. For Cirk La Putyka, the theme, the story and the message are as important as the professional approach to both - individual theatre genres and circus disciplines.
The producing company, Cirk La Putyka, o.p.s., was established in 2009 with the artistic director Rostislav Novák and the managing director Vít Novák, both appointed by the company’s board.
The ensemble has twenty members including actors, musicians, acrobats, puppeteers and dancers; all members are top professionals in their chosen discipline but they are also able to cross the line into several other areas of work. The whole staging team is constant and is not changed from the beginning.
At the present time, there are seven productions in repertory of CIRK LA PUTYKA (LA PUTYKA, UP´END´DOWN, SLAPSTICK SONATA, RISK, AIRGROUND, PLAY and DOLLS) and we prepare several more projects for 2015. The last production RISK is part of international project called LACRIMAE, which is internationally co-produced with Cirkus Cirkör (Tilde Björfols, Sweden) and Cahin Caha (Daniel Gulko, France). We also work together with well-known groups and artists such as Maksim Komaro, Tilde Björfors, Jan Rosén, Daniel Gulko, Bonaventura Gacon, The Race Horse Company, Compagnie XY, Ieto, Vladimir Puzanov, lectors from the Cirque de Soleil, and the French National Circus School.
