Circus vs. Pandemic
The activity of our company is 82% dependant on the income from tickets. Therefeore, the measures adopted against the coronavirus pandemic have hit us very hard. But we always fight, so we were among the first in the cultural sector to adapt to the new (limited) possibilities and moved our program into the online world. We founded the Cirk La Putyka (A)live platform, which allows us and other artists not only from the Czech Republic to do what we do best – to bring joy to people. Thanks to your support, we believe that we will overcome the crisis.

On March 11, we played Memories of Fools for an empty auditorium, but with a live stream for 60,000 people. For this first stream, we raised 600,000 CZK for artists on Darujme.cz. Thank you to all the donors, you took our breath away and at the same time allowed us to continue.
Every Wednesday we stream recordings of shows and live performances, live interviews, original concepts, or a documentary about part of the history of our company. Every Sunday we stream Homework, a weekly show of the best circus acts from the home environment, where circus artists from all over the world take part.
We also developed a program to support the young circus generation (Holektiv, Cink Cink Cirk, Feel the Universe, Miša Stará), children from children's homes, acrobats from Rwanda or lecturers and circus teachers who found themselves in a difficult financial situation due to the pandemic.

We have established an initiative for all artists and art productions who want to continue to perform for a live audience. The podiums are streets, courtyards or parking lots, auditoriums are windows and balconies of apartments, hospitals or retirement homes throughout the Czech Republic. Because culture never stops!
